Inspiring Young Minds Through Music

The 5-Day Program

Five days that make piano feel like play.

Designed for young children, ages 5 to 8. Each session is 30 minutes, in our home, with a parent always present.

1

Meet Your Piano

Sit at the piano for the first time — posture, hand position, sounds high and low. A demo from your teacher. Talk about your favorite songs. Open a visual progress journal.

2

The Black Key Code

The black keys come in groups of two and three — the keyboard's secret code. Find every C on the piano. Number your fingers and learn the first finger games.

3

Your First Song

Five fingers, five notes, one whole song. Learn Hot Cross Buns or Mary Had a Little Lamb. Same notes — how do you make them sound happy? Now try sad.

4

Walking & Running Notes

Some notes walk slowly. Some run fast. Clap them, stomp them, then play them on the piano. Build a rhythm pattern, then play a duet with the teacher.

Why start with piano?

The instrument that builds the brain.

Piano isn't just music — early study links to real gains in the skills children need most.

🧠

Language & Reading

Learning piano strengthens the same neural pathways used for language and reading — giving young children a natural head start in school.

🔢

Math & Spatial Reasoning

Counting rhythms, recognizing patterns, and reading music all exercise the same thinking skills behind math and problem solving. It's a workout disguised as fun.

🤲

Focus & Fine Motor Skills

Both hands, doing different things, at the same time — piano builds concentration and coordination in a way almost nothing else does at this age.

The bottom line Piano is one of the few activities that engages language, math, memory, and motor skills all at once — and starting young is when it matters most. The benefits last well beyond the lessons.

Questions, answered

What parents most often ask.

Where do the lessons happen? +
Lessons are taught at our home, where we have a piano. A parent or guardian must be present throughout every session.
Does my child need any prior experience? +
None at all. The program is built specifically for first-timers. If your child has dabbled before, we'll meet them where they are.
What does my child need to bring? +
A notebook for the progress journal, and some curiosity. We provide everything else — including the piano.
How do we pay? +
After you submit the form, we'll confirm scheduling and send Venmo or Zelle details. Full package payment upfront, or session-by-session if you prefer.
What if my child wants to continue beyond the 5 days? +
Most do. Continuing students meet once or twice a week at $20 per session. Pacing is tailored to your child — sheet music introduced gradually once the ear foundation is in place.
What if we need to cancel? +
24 hours' notice = full reschedule, no penalty. Less than 24 hours, the session counts — but we'll do our best to fit in a makeup.
What's the right age? +
Ages 5 to 8. For 5- and 6-year-olds, we'll have a short chat first to make sure they can sit for 25 minutes, follow simple directions, and tell left from right. Older kids (9+) are welcome — just reach out.
